Things I like

Isn't this bathing suit just too gorgeous? I love the elegant style that women had in the 40s, 50s and 60s and this suit reminds me of it.

Very dearly wants.

I also like these. Very much.

Pretty picture

Just thought I'd share this with you because I like it.

Love the style and the happy looks on all the little monsters' faces.

I like how the artists give monsters a fairy-talesque feel. They're all too adorable!

Short shorts

I'm all for a pair of sneakily short shorts but have to confess that I cannot stand it when a girl (or boy for that matter) wears denim shorts cut so small that the pockets stick out.

I just don't dig it.

This grey t-shirt and red jacket does make me happy though so I can almost forgive this girl's pants. Almost.

so what if i'm a bit soppy?

i really like the ide of this blog, kissssing.

it is a celebration of all things old-school love. Porter Hovey russles through the thrift-store boxes and find old pictures of elegant looking couples photographed in (mostly) black and white.

love was so stylish back in those days. here are a few of my favourites:

enjoy the love everyone!

clothes on another girl's body

Image from here.

so i really loves clothes, and i especially love scouring thrift stores for awesome once-in-a-lifetime pieces.

i also tend to watch people and occasionally admire their fashion sense. i'll sometimes be out or at a concert or an event and look at what everyone's wearing and then allow myself to pick one item from every person to have (Even though i know i'm not really goin to have it) and it's kinda fun.

i love the outfits that these girls are wearing.

The Baxter Theatre's Taste, Tweet and Theatre Event (number 2)

Ooh I'm excited, I've been invited to the Baxter's second Taste, Tweet and Theatre evening.

I get to take a partner with me (oh, how lucky you are lovely drummer boy) and enjoy a cultured evening tasting wine, snacking on canapes and watching a show at the theatre!

I can't wait! It's this Friday, so at least I won't be stuck at home while the Marja goes to the U2 concert.

Happy Monday everyone!

Oh, and how beautiful is this theatre? I found it here.

GoodMorning GoodNight

I love this awesome Good Morning Good Night Poster! It's a limited edition letterpress and it uses glow-in-the-dark ink! Awesome!!

I'd definitely have one of these in my house, though sometimes (I don't know about you) when I'm having a bad day, it makes me so grumpy I don't even want to hear the words "have a good day".

You know, those days when all you see is red and the chirpy happiness of seemingly EVERYONE AROUND YOU DOESN'T HELP!

Luckily, today is not one of those days.

I found this little design delight here on Cup of Jo and you can read more about it here

ps, how COOL is glow-in-the-dark?! I even just love SAYING it out loud.

Small Space, No Waste

Ok, I'm the first person to want my space - i.e. when I'm in the lift and you get in the lift and you stand 2cm away from me even though you could be at least 5cm away I start to get tetchy.

But this is really good use of space and I think I could live here.
I like this dude's reading area, and the kitchen is really quite gorgeous. Even though I develop nervous twitches in tight squeezes (and even sometimes in not so tight squeezes), I think I could get used to living in this little burrow-apartment.
I also love the mosaic wall and sea-blue basin in the bathroom, it makes the whole room seem clean and fresh.

I found this brilliantly designed 182-square foot (square feet, only thought about this now but square feet?) here.

Amigurumi Rat

I just absolutely love this rat. Who wouldn't? Or couldn't? It is illegal for things this cute not to be mine.

I didn't even know what Amigurumi was before this lovely little rat came along and changed my life (ok, in a very teeny-tiny way), but still: this rat is amazing! isn't it? Thank goodness for the Japanese right?

I found it on the lovely pages of Etsy over here. Sighs

And yes, I think real rats are gorgeous too. So there. I'd pull out my tongue at you if I could see you

Hot Bombshell Scarlett

Wowzee! Scarlett J looks absolutely stunning in this Dolce & Gabbana ad!

This isn't the first time she's teamed up with this brand looking her absolute best. See some more gorgeous pics here from the previous campaign.

What do you think of Ms. Scarlett?

Ricky Lee Gordon/Xanele Van Rensburg

I really like this guy's style.

I especially like the pigeon wearing a crown piece he put up in Cape Town (I know I saw it while driving along but can't remember where exactly...)

I like the way he uses the spaces inbetween and amongst buildings where people live, work, play. It brings the art into the real world and doesn't hide it behind the walls of intimidating (for some!) art galleries.

Here is some more of his work on 10and5.com

This artwork is however NOT by Ricky Lee Gordon but rather by Xanele Van Rensburg who is also an amazingly talented local artist. See more of her work here.

PS I'm also a big fan of 10and5.com, can you tell?

Who's your favourite artist?

Things I like

This guy's stuff is really cool

Owen Gildersleeve (what a cool surname right? Sounds like something from the medieval times). Anyway, I would love to be able to make stuff like Owen makes stuff...my little heart can dream (and be inspired and motivated ;) )

See more of his awesomeness here.
